Privacy notice

Breathing app, nothing more.

Even Breath is an offline breathing coach. The page below explains exactly what the app keeps on your device, and why that is the entire story.

TL;DR

No accounts. No sign-in. No usage tracking. No advertising.

Your sessions, favorites, ratings, and plan day stay on this device. You can clear them from Settings → Clear session history at any time.

Offline by design

Every guided script and breathing pattern is bundled with the app. Use it on a phone with no signal.

Local-only data

Your session log lives in an on-device database. Nothing is gathered from your practice or your phone.

You're in control

Clear, edit, or stop using Even Breath whenever — your records leave with the app.

What information does Even Breath keep?

The app stores a small set of practice information on this device so you can see your progress:

  • A display name you chose for greetings.
  • The session log: time, length, the pattern or script you used, an optional rating, and an optional short note.
  • The favorites you marked, and the plan day you are on.
  • A couple of preferences such as default session length and "reduce motion".

The app never collects information about your phone hardware, your network, your location, your contacts, your photos, or your microphone. There is one optional exception that you choose to switch on — Apple Health — described below.

How is the information used?

Only to show your practice back to you. The home screen shows a streak count. The profile screen shows recent sessions, weekly totals, and a small set of personal milestones.

None of this information is read by anyone else. The app does not display the information to other users, share it across devices, or hand it to third parties.

Where is the information kept?

On this device's local storage only. Two technologies are used: a small on-device key/value store for preferences, and a small on-device database for the session log. Both live inside the app's own sandboxed storage.

Nothing is copied to remote storage, and the app makes no remote requests for the information it keeps.

Apple Health (optional)

Even Breath can save each completed session to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes, and can read your Mindful Minutes so your breathing sits alongside the rest of your Health data. This stays off until you enable "Save mindful minutes" in Settings and grant permission.

When it is on, the only thing exchanged is the date, time, and length of a mindful session. That data is stored by Apple inside Health — not on our servers, and we never see it. You can revoke access at any time in the iOS Health app under Sharing, and turning the setting off stops any further writing.

How long does it stay?

For as long as the app is installed on this device, or until you remove it.

"Settings → Clear session history" removes the full session log immediately. Deleting the app removes everything the app stored.

Children and family use

Even Breath is suitable for general audiences and contains no advertising, profiling, or in-app purchases. Because nothing is collected about the person using the app, there are no special children's data considerations beyond the local-only design described above.

Your rights and choices

Because there is no remote copy of your information, your right to access, change, or delete it is exercised directly inside the app:

  • Access — open the Profile screen to see your recent sessions, stats, and achievements.
  • Edit — change your display name, ratings, and notes anytime.
  • Delete — use "Clear session history" in Settings, or uninstall the app.
